SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Three adults and four children are being assisted by the Red Cross after being displaced by a fire at their duplex Sunday morning.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to the 400 block of St. James Avenue at 8:32 a.m. to find heavy smoke showing from the rear of one of the units in the two story duplex.
The bedroom and hallway of one unit sustained fire damage while the rest of the unit sustained smoke damage throughout. The other unit also suffered some fire damage.
Firefighters had the fire marked under control at 9:02 a.m.
There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Suffolk Fire Marshal’s office.
